On the Automatic Estimation of Fundamental Matrix

چکیده
Accurate and robust estimation of the Fundamental matrix is very important for many computer vision applications, such as 3D reconstruction from 2D images. In this paper, a complete analysis and comparison of three important algorithms for estimating the Fundamental matrix when three views are given. The six-point algorithm originally used for three-view geometry is implemented for the automatic estimation of the Fundamental Matrix — the two-view geometry tensor, assuming that more than two views are available. An extensive comparison to other two popular methods: the seven-point and eightpoint algorithms are made through carefully designed experiments with synthetic and real images, assuming three views are available. The comparisons show that the new-implemented six-point algorithm, which makes use of the three-view constraint, is more accurate and has higher ability to handle the outliers.

Automatic Bounding Estimation in Modified Nlms Algorithm
Modified Normalized Least Mean Square (MNLMS) algorithm, which is a sign form of NLMS based on set-membership (SM) theory in the class of optimal bounding ellipsoid (OBE) algorithms, requires a priori knowledge of error bounds that is unknown in most applications. In a special but popular case of measurement noise, a simple algorithm has been proposed. With some simulation examples the performa...
متن کاملMatching of omnidirectional and perspective images using the hybrid fundamental matrix
In this paper we present an automatic hybrid matching system mixing images coming from central catadioptric systems and conventional cameras. We analyze three models of hybrid fundamental matrices. We perform experiments with synthetic and real data to test the behavior of these three approaches. The sensitivy to noise of lifted coordinates induces to select the simplest model to build an autom...
متن کاملComparison of Local and Non-Local Methods in Covariance Matrix Estimation by Using Multi-baseline SAR Interferometry and Height Extraction for Principal Components with Maximum Likelihood Approach
By today, the technology of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry (InSAR) has been largely exploited in digital elevation model (DEM) generation and deformation mapping. Conventional InSAR technique exploits two SAR images acquired from slightly different angles, in which the information of elevation and deformation can be captured through processing of the phase difference of the image...
متن کاملAutomatic Estimation of Epipolar Geometry from Blob Features Report LiTH-ISY-R-2620
This report describes how blob features can be used for automatic estimation of the fundamental matrix from two perspective projections of a 3D scene. Blobs are perceptually salient, homogeneous, compact image regions. They are represented by their average colour, area, centre of gravity and inertia matrix. Coarse blob correspondences are found by voting using colour and local similarity transf...

Text summarization endeavors to produce a summary version of a text, while maintaining the original ideas. The textual content on the web, in particular, is growing at an exponential rate. The ability to decipher through such massive amount of data, in order to extract the useful information, is a major undertaking and requires an automatic mechanism to aid with the extant repository of informa...
